Got off Monday after 12...heading for Columbus, OH 1003 miles away....and had to be there by Wednesday.
Drove just under 300 miles to Perry, GA. Found a stopover at Fair Harbor RV Park just off I75. Neat park all treed, cute little lake in the middle of it, great electric and cable. Just what we needed after getting in around 6 that evening.

... morning today. Headed for the laundromat and did up a couple of loads, then went adventuring. Went to the mounds at Ocmulgee National Monument and had a great visit. Good museum and video, amazing gathering mound with chief's circle, and visits to outside of funeral and other mounds. A bit of a walk for me through the river / backwater area with herons and egrets. Then it was on to the Fish and Pig for a great supper. Back to the camp early for some quiet time. A great ...
We have waited for several days for the rain to stop. We decided there might be a constant drip from the sky the entire time we are here—so we need to get out despite the weather. As a side note: when we walk from our 5th wheel to the jeep, it sounds like we are walking on a giant wet sponge. We decided to go into Perry, Georgia.
... only be here one more day and who knows when we will be back in Perry, guess I got taken!! Oh well, live and learn.
After lunch we walked through the motor home exhibit area. They had everything from Roadtrek (basically a van with all the trimmings) to a preowned Prevost which we could buy at the show price of $849,000. We walked through that one, but it really didn't have anything I liked. In fact, I really didn't see anything I wanted better than what we currently ...
... a white Mustang convertible in the parking lot and they had been staying in Chattanooga. We opened the sunroof and drove through Knoxville without any problem and with no need for the by-pass. Although there was a fog advisory zone closer to Chattanooga it was beautifully sunny there. Of course the arrival of high bill boards meant Georgia was next! We stopped at the Welcome Centre to get our coupon books and the temperature had risen to 58 ...
