Sat downstairs watching the morning light arrive. Still dark at 7 am but it was finally light at 8. not sure I would be able to cope with that. but next week when daylight saving finishes, it will change for the people living here. No rush this morning for breakfast. Made a few sandwiches and packed the little cooler for a day out.
First stop was Notre Dame University which is in South Bend where Madge lives. It used to be heavily sports oriented more so ...
... of the back roads back to South Bend and drove through areas that were predominantly Amish farms. One of the cutest things I saw was a small buggy with 3 small children being pulled by an equally small horse. Miniature of what we had seen in town.
Back in town, we chatted with Madge and then enjoyed a lovely meal of roast stuffed boneless pork and vegetables followed by a piece of her delicious apple pie. More chatting before retiring to bed.
... Michigan City and South Bend so it was actually 6 pm. This will make for some interesting planning for the next couple of days. We need to make sure we make allowances for the time shift when going to the airport. And to complicate matters, daylight saving finishes this weekend.
Enjoyed a lovely dinner of home made soup and Madge's apple pie. Truly delicious. Dealt with the housekeeping - washing before going to bed.
Carol and I are touring the upper Lower Peninsula and the UP (Upper Peninsula if you're not a Michigander). We will be camping in our camper at Sleeping Bear Dunes, St. Ignace (overlooking Big Mac), Tahquamenon Falls, Wells State Park and Door County in Wisconsin. ... Michigan/Wisconsin color tour. We'll stay at such campgrounds as Sleeping Bear Dunes, Tacquamenon Falls, The Straits and Peninsula State Park in Door County Wisconsin. Hopefully this beautiful weather will hold out for a few more weeks.
