... hundreds of them that had red flashing lights and they all flashed at the same time. It looked pretty weird to see them. We stopped around 10pm at a La Quinta inn at Salina, Kansas and got a room for the night. We all got some much needed showers, tried to find enough plugs to charge all of our electronics, and headed to bed.

We left the great sand dunes and drove through Colorado into Kansas where we spent the night at another walmart. The next morning, we got up and drove to Abilene, ks, the home of the Eisenhower museum and library. We toured his boyhood home, which was way smaller than Jefferson's which we saw last year. Started out the day milking goats, and then making goat cheese with The Goat Cheese Lady, all arranged by Karen. Had lunch in Manitou, and then packed up and started drive east into Kansas. Unfortunately the Sand Creek Massacre site was closed when we got there. Kansas was flat as expected, but on highways still quite beautiful.
