... with a large cold cup of milk for each of us. That made a lovely bedtime snack. The room was tiny, but cozy and warm. Kermie doesnt take too much extra space and we all slept really well. The next day, I had to be at the Red Lion Jantzen Beach for a Relay For Life training. EJ went to the movies with Emily and Jacob while I was busy. He picked me up that night and we came home.

Just wanted to acknowledge this.

A glimpse of the future?

... Texting is the distance we create by not allowing ourselves to have a voice, a personality, a character to develop as we are always changing.

I hope that there is no assuming between us, I've made enough assumptions already, and I've given her an impression of myself more than once.  The best way to get to know somebody, word of mouth, assumptions, and all else aside is to truly be with them and listen to what they have to say.

Pike's Market and Portland Bound!!

Since our hotel didn't serve free breakfast, we decided to pop our last batch of Jiffy Pop out on the balcony of our room to supplment our stomachs until we could grab brunch at the world famous Pike's Place Market in downtown Seattle. Here, we visited the world's first Starbucks (where we entertained by an acapella ...

Portland's People Are Pretty Pleasant

... that saw let her over. She was so confused after driving in Atlanta traffic all of her life that she almost missed the opportunity.
- Drove the Hawthorne district (where we are staying) and wished that it was not pouring so we could have walked in and out of all of the adorable vintage shops.

On the Airport Floor

... women. I don't think there were ever more than three people in the place before at one time. Well, I left to take some books for the evening event.

I had something to eat before returning to a sweetly smelling, clean apartment. I had time to finish carting the straggling remnants down to storage--the kind of stuff you just throw in at the last moment. I took a shower, packed my books and clothes, and was just finishing tagging the keys when the carpet cleaning guy came ...

Two down...two to go...

... Mt. Hood and then views far into Washington - Mt. St. Helens, etc. It was really beautiful. We had about a 4 hour layover in Portland - just enough time to use the internet and relax in the World Club and walk around the airport a bit to stretch our legs and get ready for the big Trans-Pacific journey.

Portland - green, rainy & pretty

... br>

This area was the end of the famous " Oregon Trail" that hundreds of people used to trek from the east coast to settle out in the west. One famous landmark on the trail was “ Beacon Rock”. It had been named by explorers Lewis & Clark in 1805 & signalled for the pioneers the nearing of the end of their journey.
