... rides including The Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain railway, Matterhorn Bobsleds and last but certainly not least, Space Mountain (freaky - but the coolest by far!). We also spent a large part of the day wet as they put James in the front of the log ride. He weighed about 20kg more than all other riders therefore ...
Los Angeles, California, United States jamesnicky... the Balboa Pier and walked around the harbor to see all the Million dollar yachts. Sunday we drove to Hollywood. We did the usual; The walk of fame and the Chinese and Kodak Theatre. We caught a 10 seater open top jeep to see the stars homes! The best house belonged to Julia Roberts (she had her Oscar in the window). There were so many – The Beckham's, Christina Aquilia (she bought the Osbourne's house), Brittany ...
Placentia, California, United States andrewkinsey... coming towards us with pink and white Hawaiian garlands around their necks and people were handing out single carnations. About 10 men in kayaks went out to sea and one women and child. They then made a circle at sea and everyone at the shore threw their carnations in. We chatted to a lady on the beach and she explained that it was a funeral of a young man that worked in one of the local hotels. Afterwards we drove to Venice Beach and then back to ...
Placentia, California, United States andrewkinsey... If we kicked our leg, we could have kicked them!!! We got quite star struck when Sally Field walked past, with "Kevin" her son from Brothers and Sisters. He is the gay son. They were followed by the fellow who is her brother, and played Sloane in Alias. They were the only famous ones we saw, so the others must have gone down in the lift. We heard that Ellen DeGeneres and Janet Jackson were also there, but didn't see them. Sally ...
Los Angeles, California, United States scatterling... fact. Kind of anti-climactic. I'm sure that a majority of the photos will still show up after the trip, however I will try and e-mail some photos to my flickr account (and blogger too) when I can get some internet. Apparently in Shanghai there is free wi-fi in our hotel room. Fancy! Here's those websites: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bentusher/ http://bentusher.blogspot.com/ And now, the itinerary: Day 01 USA - Beijing We start our vacation by ...
Placentia, California, United States teamollie... from you all while I am travelling so please type in your comments either on this blog or at sbelloli@hotmail.com. I leave the evening of Feb. 18 and arrive in Mumbai around noon on Feb. 20 (ouch - more than a little jet lagged). Love to all.
Placentia, California, United States shirlbell... Sorted anyway and got Shuttle to our hotel (more traffic seen in about 2 mins than we have seen in 4 weeks in NZ) - vv nice although noisy outside. Had wander round local area to the Graumans Chinese Theatre (where the hand and footprints are) and the North highland Mall which we are just behind. Something celeb going off but still dont know what - kids screaming so think it was pop stars (someone called Eve?) or something! Unfortunately we crashed out about 8pm so didnt see too much more.
Los Angeles, California, United States richandfi... We are disappointed with California we had planned to stay for several weeks but without being disrespectful to our East coast we are very much reminded of Mablethorpe and Skegness ,so we will soon be moving on to Las Vegas and plan to become storm troopers dodging the hurricanes that seem to be all over the middle of the country. We heard on the news that they want to ban homeless people from smoking, the in accessory is a small ugly dog...only in America!!!!!!!!!!!!
Los Angeles, California, United States chrisandjacquiAfter about 28 hours from the wake-up call in Cairo to the front door in Hibiscusland, we made it home safe and stinky. Can you imagine what three weeks of cat hair on bamboo floors looks like? But, the cats were happy to see us and keep sitting on us every chance they get, as if to say "no more running off to Africa for three weeks!". No worries about that, unless we decide to take our South African ...
Placentia, California, United States teamollie... each winter. So they don't have the diversity of life there. It takes 10 years for a palmito to grow there, and only 2-3 in Costa Rica. So of course they get their palmitos in cans from Costa Rica. A nap, then a swim. We notice glasses full of lime chunks and ask what it is. We order Caipiriña made with Cachaça, limon, azucar. Tastes a lot like a margarita, and boy is it strong. Otro, por favor. Turns out Cachaça is the local ...
