    ... environment, came a series of small towns. Like small towns across much of the United States, there were some abandoned houses and shuttered businesses, but given the pleasant winter climate, there were thriving mobile home parks, although they were now half empty as the winter season had wound down. There was a restaurant here and there, and looking jarringly pristine, a few newly constructed Dollar General stores.

    Cath's not quite ready to commit to being a swimmer. She's on the fence about the various strokes and whether she likes the water. She misses the snow back East.

    Today we had breakfast here at the hotel...unremarkable and pretty basic and crowded. Then we were off exploring the Outlet Malls which are about 20 minutes out of town towards LA. Being a holiday it was busy but Wouter found 3 light long sleeve shirts at Izod and I found an exercise shirt there as well as a T Shirt at Chicos and a blouse at Ann Taylor.
