Nice hotel, rooms are somewhat small, but adequate. Breakfast typical Marriott fare. Best thing about this hotel is it's proximity to the Mall of America. We walked across the street and were in the Mall parking lot. Literally. It's so close, you can just leave your car at the hotel, and not bother with parking at the mall.

... The only way to get there is by boat or plane. We’ll drive to Grand Portage, MN, about five hours from home, spend the night at the Grand Portage Casino and Lodge, and board the ferry first thing Saturday morning. After an eight hour ferry ride, we’ll debark at Rock Harbor, at the east end of the island, spend the night in the campground there, and board a water taxi to the very beginning of the Greenstone Ridge trail at Hidden Lake the ...

Some might wonder what one will do in the first weeks of summer before a huge trip. Youre in luck, because thats exactly what Ive done.

I went home for a week to celebrate my 21st birthday, it was a blast and two of my favorite people took me out that night. I hung out with family and friends and had lots of fun. Then i went up to North Dakota to hangout with my friends up north. I had some really great nights with many different people.

Over the next couple of blogs I will try to fill you on some of the background of some of the places we are going, and people we are seeing...and even give you some updates on some of the kids that we met this summer...

Feel free to keep reading...post questions, comments or whatever...

Well, the travel is over. Flights went well and now back in the midwest. Strange to be back here, although I'm sure the real strange feelings are to come. With right hand of the road driving and walking, springtime after just seeing the start of fall, working...Must say I was pretty pleased to come back to the house and see lots of great food in the fridge. Don't need to be in NZ to get good food.

Still having a good time and have made some really, really nice friends. I've also said that when I come home I'm going to do a couple of projects with some teachers; one with Oakdale Primary and ...
