Great location. Loved the shuttle to the mall, but able to walk back and forth easily too. Clean. Two hot tubs and a pool. Decent breakfast.

Nice hotel, rooms are somewhat small, but adequate. Breakfast typical Marriott fare. Best thing about this hotel is it's proximity to the Mall of America. We walked across the street and were in the Mall parking lot. Literally. It's so close, you can just leave your car at the hotel, and not bother with parking at the mall.

We were up at 5:45 a.m. (Tom an hour earlier) and finally got out the door at 8:00 a.m. There are always more last-minute things to do then we expect.

We drove to Merrillville, where we chatted for a bit with Linda's parents, who had already eaten their breakfast. They took off (heading to Rush Lake, MN) and Grandma H & Uncle Dan …

    Why We Torture Ourselves Backpacking

... 8217;s difficult and pushes us to do more than we think we can. I want to see if it kicks my butt the way it did back in 2011, on my first ever backpacking trip. I’ve done 150 more miles in a pack since then, and Boot Camp exercise classes twice a week. I’m in much better shape now. At least that’s what I tell myself.

A few days after Kate’s incredulous outburst, I mention our trip to Zan, a friend from Boot Camp. ...

    Hot enough?

... Mall of America. The mall is big with the stores in an outer circle and four levels leaving space for kiddie rides in the middle which included a roller coaster. I had a great meal in a barbecue restaurant comprising of a burger with brisket added to the burger meat, topped with pulled pork and two thick slices of jalapeno bacon with chip - Yum!
Wonder how hot it will get tomorrow?

By the time we were approaching Minnesota the weather had changed to cloudy skies, light rain and eventually snow flurries with temp falling to low 30's - all within the space of an hour. We were relieved to find accommodation at St Paul around ...

Tonight Stephen is writing again. The computer is being ornery, so uploading pictures will have to wit until the morning.

So, the first thing to note is that we stayed at a "motel". I haven't stayed at one in ages but they seem to be the accomodation of choice in the Wisconsin Dells. The city was both cheesy and touristy...but the kids loved it! The kids really enjoyed being in a motel and being able to sit on their little front porch and walk over to ...
