Boy is this falter a waste land!! Nothing but oil pump jacks and junkyards in this entire area! What a difference in scenery from the past. 5 days!!
But we are close to the airport for our 7:15am flight to IAH then DCA so it works. We killed enough time driving around looking at stupid stuff that it landed us in Odessa at 5pm.

Today we experienced dramatic changes in weather and landscape. We went from the heat of a desert to snowy mountains (8650ft - 2600m), from a sand storm to a rain and snow storm, from pristine untouched white sand dunes to the endless thousands of rigs pumping black oil.

... was LONG but I have to say American Airlines kept the food and snacks coming. Cousin Dr. Kathy was called upon on the flight to attend a sickly man but all turned out to be ok for him thankfully.     We had fun visiting the girls on Saturday night. We ate at CottonPatch across from the hotel. We gave Christie the baby gifts that I made... She was thrilled!
