... to point on rabbits, squirrels and birds. Her favorite greeting is with something in her mouth and "growling" affectionately at you. She makes great eye contact, is finally starting to learn words (typical of rescues), loves walks and keeps Donna company during the day, never leaving her side.
East Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States tmdjGrand Rapids, MI... I have nothing to say really. It decided to start raining like crazy the minute we crossed the Michigan border. Needless to say, I didn't feel like exploring much in the rain. But, our show went well, we had an excellent crew in a great space, so I can't really complain. I just hope Michigan gets a bit better.
... night, thereby sacrificing one night’s accommodation for the relative safety and sanity of Chicago again (from where we’d fly to Boston). Having made our new travel plans we started on our final walk back to the hotel, once more experiencing the suburban perfection of Holland. There was immediate unease caused by the lack of humans anywhere in town,...not even birds were singing. The only sign of life were the squirrels, there were hundreds of them ...
Holland, Michigan, United States mikeandtraceSo I head off today on this big adventure! I will be in Amsterdam for 3 days and then I head off to Arusha on Sunday with my group. I am full of excitement and nerves and I can't wait to learn and experience everything this semester will offer. There will be many stories and photos (if I can find somewhere to upload them) to follow.
Love and peace to everyone I will miss you!

Well, this is just a welcome to my newly-formed travel blog. I've been in Holland for most of the summer, and I am going home in a day and a half to spend the next two weeks with my family. Holland has been good for me... I don't think I could have spent another summer working at my high school job in Red Wing. But hey, who says you can't go home?
The Haiti group is one of the most fun-loving, passionate, and dedicated group of volunteers you could meet. Our meetings could probably be shortened by an hour each time but suffice it to say we all love to talk! (We have some volunteers who have never set foot in Haiti, but still offer their assistance. How cool is that!) Each of us plays a role in trip-planning.
As we prepare for our upcoming ...

Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States liamleprechaun... I'm not over the weight limit. I do not feel nervous whatsoever. I feel I made a commitment and am in good hands. The people who have gone on this trip before are amazingly organized and knowledgable. The most frustrating preparation by far was trying to load my MP3 player. Talk about feeling old! The weather forecast for the week is temps in the upper 80s, with ...
Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States larindaFor those of you who've ever worked in video you'll be familiar with the phrase "hurry up and wait." Well, that's what I've experienced since I first posted. However, as of yesterday, that's all changed. I'm now kicking it in gear because I leave next week. My heart has been racing since I got the call. I'll be running around today trying to expedite my visa application. Then, not knowing if I'll end up with a girl or a boy, I'll be doing some shopping ...
Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States travelmom... noise was amazing and the big cars were something else. We were also amazed at how expensive food and restaurants were. We were happy to get home. Fred started as soon as possible on plants for the patio. He has Geraniums, Dahlias, Petunias, Marigolds, Ivy Geraniums, Impatiens, Sun Impatiens, Tuberous Begonias, Lobelia, a Fuchsia, Basil, Oregano, Marjoram, Tarragon, Chives, and Thyme. He is also trying to start a Stargazer.
