... us so we will see; Off to Virginia Beach in the morning then depending on temperatures would love to head across to the Blue Ridge Mountains and what looks to be the most stunning scenery (And that would be North Carolina).. That would then be an almost too irresistible hop skip and a jump to Tennessee!!
And to think of all those snowbirds who just high tail it to Florida!! … How much would that suck!!
... is it the “November nor’easter,” “Veteran’s Day nor’easter,” “Friday the 13th nor’easter,” “Nor’Ida”?

... allowed into the building. Even if the food is prepackaged and in your backpack, you must throw it out. Unfortunately, they just have large trash bins where you dump everything and no one would want to retrieve anything from there after the tour. After going through a metal detector we were paraded across the front of the building into the rotunda where there were several impressive paintings and sculpture steeped in history ...
Fredericksburg, Virginia, United States eightydaze... in the middle of the grand entrance. Clarkism: Kids, did you know the 18 Mythical Statuary's that encircle this room were once nudes? They are all now holding shields in front of themselves called "modesty shields" due to some public outcry". Were these men hiding something special? After all, there were certainly many other anatomically correct gentlemen statues in this city that escaped censorship. Ellen found it ...
Fredericksburg, Virginia, United States eightydazeWashington DC. I finally reached my last destination in the US and took my last ride on Greyhound, hopefully for a long time! Although this was not the first time I had visited our nation's capital it had been a long time. The last time I probably could not fully appreciate its magnificence since I was only 10. I stayed with Ben for half of the time and then moved to Chris' parents place. DC is full of things to do and see and even though ...
Washington, District of Columbia, United States dan-levitan... same place we had dinner last night and lunch today -- the Atlanta Bread Company. Brian is smitten. I think if we had one of these in Oregon, he'd eat there every day -- maybe two or three times a day. I wonder if we'll stop there on our way out of town... Tomorrow we go to Manassas and then perhaps down to Williamsburg. We'll see... It'll be nice not having to walk everywhere... Tonight Brian is finishing off his final beer from the Big Beer Purchase of ...
Washington, DC, District of Columbia, United States crawfords... magazines. Overall it was a very nice, casual afternoon....until the Super Shuttle guy called and said he was 3 minutes away from picking me up. And then the panic began. We hauled our butts back down to 66th just in time to find the guy arriving. We told him we would be right back as we squeezed ourselves into the tiny apartment elevator and made our way to the 7th floor. We grabbed my bags, some how managed to fit ourselves and the bags in said ...
New York, New York, United States gypsytraveller... think that I could live here. Wednesday morning saw me being taken by car (Paige, Freeda's very pregnant daughter) to Clifton (20 miles)in time to give our Rotary presentation by 7.15 am. We were little late but the show went on anyway (at the Ross Creek Golf club house). After changing we visited the Blue Grass Cooperage where white oak is made into planks for Jack Daniel's whisky kegs (at some joint in Kentucky). We hope to visit Jack's place at Lynchburg TN in three ...
