... is really happening!! Once we arrived we learned that we would have the afternoon to explore the city on our own so I posted a desperate Facebook plea to anyone who could recommend things to do. Michelle Kerbel, a girl from Yael's class at JDS gave me a call and sent us off to the Strip District for lunch. She was accurate in describing it as a Shuk meets Eastern Market. This town is filled with Italians and Polish- and it's evident just by ...

We are leaving Ohio today and heading northeast.
Going through Ohio we went through Zanesville, named after Zane Gray. There is an exhibit here for him, but we didn't stop. Still I thought the Gray family would get a kick out of this, so I am posting it for Betty to see and share. ... nice college kids bagging ice, dipping ice cream, and general clean up. This is just fine by me. Priest Lake is absolutely beautiful. The lake if 19 miles long and something like 300+ feet deep. Sometimes I wish we fished (not really.) We're only about 30 miles from Canada as the crow flies. We have NO cell phone service, spotty internet service, and ONE TV station - FOX. I'm kind of going into withdrawal.

... Dave was still speaking to us. You see, he was able to get a workamping position at Hermit Park to hand out with us for the summer while we were a short distance away at Mary's Lake. (See above story...nuff said.)

We got back to Pittsburgh mid September just in time for winter. What were we thinking?? The hospital stay in Alaska made Jean a tad nervous, so we decided maybe we should settle down, buy a house, and act like good ...
