From Lake Macquarie we drove down to Sydney and were fortunate enough to spend more time with friends we haven't seen in many years. ... warm themselves up under the sun was, for lack of a better word, nice.

I turn around and admire the view, the neighbourhood that's just above the pier, as I head over to the pier. The Santa Monica Pier is exactly as it should be (minus the reconstruction/replacement of parts of it). I walk along the pier, weaving my way through the crowds to Isabella's at the end of the pier. I get seated on the patio facing the carnival that's on the pier, which again ...
