From Lake Macquarie we drove down to Sydney and were fortunate enough to spend more time with friends we haven't seen in many years. I turn around and admire the view, the neighbourhood that's just above the pier, as I head over to the pier. The Santa Monica Pier is exactly as it should be (minus the reconstruction/replacement of parts of it). I walk along the pier, weaving my way through the crowds to Isabella's at the end of the pier. I get seated on the patio facing the carnival that's on the pier, which again ...
