    Just Making Miles

Not much to report today. We drove from Austin to Beaumont, Texas in just under four hours with only a ten-minute stop for tea and restrooms. Not that we're in a hurry, but Lulu planned it that way so we could watch the Netherlands play Argentina in the three 'o clock game (we're in Central time now) in our hotel room. After the disappointing game, we ...

... GPS decided to have a brain again after she took us on a small tour of the wrong area, we ended up at Cracker Barrel in Beaumont, Texas. We saw our first cowboy in 2 minutes. I had dumplins and a sweet potato. Evie had the same with a stew entrée. We wanted dessert, but we were running behind schedule.

There was some strange stuff for sale in jars there that we passed on, don't want to try everything ...

Yesterday (Tuesday) we took "G/G" and the TOAD to Camping World to have the auxiliary brake installed. Yes I know it should have been done before, but no one ever accused us of doing things the easy way. Anyway, we drove out early yesterday, turned both vehicles in and was told they would be ready about 4 pm. So off we went back home. I had driven my car out while Bob towed the car so we could go back home.

Good morning! Almost good afternoon. We arrived safely in Houston last night and enjoyed our one-night stay at the Embassy Suites. We woke up leisurely, enjoyed our breakfast and made our way to check out. Next we made a quick stop at the Att store so Risa could get her phone updated and have her line transferred to her original phone number. She can officially be reached on her new phone at 956.371.8208. Texts welcome!! Roxy is also on ...
