I started the day by visiting the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum which is reputed to be the best museum on the whole of Route 66. It certainly didn't disappoint with a great number of items and articles from throughout the road's history. I took a lot of photos and got a couple of selfies with the two Route 66 signs outside the museum. ... of Acadia. It is a very popular location for weddings and such. Pop's had a variety of over 600 types of pop.....bacon flavour, ranch dressing flavour, Kitti Piddle, Zombie brains........etc. We picked up a variety six pack and will be enjoying them along the route. Staying for two days in Amarillo.....lots to see.....more to come tomorrow. Cannot believe we have been on the road for only 7 days and are in Texas......very flat ...

... left a spray can in front of our front wheels which made a massive bang. Our poor tour manager and bus driver had to go back out it the pouring rain to check everything was okay and the bus was apparently covered in paint which by the time we got to our hotel had washed off. We finally made it to our hotel in Amarillo which was absolutely awesome! A few more miles and we got off the freeway for a quick stop at Pop's Gas Station in Arcadia, OK. This modern looking 50's diner was named for soda "pop". To prove it, this place boasts over 400 kinds of soda for sale.
