... did those many years ago (well, maybe a couple of pounds heavier!). So now I'm sitting here at the President's club relaxing as much as one can with a group of New Yokas having a screaming conversation a few feet away.
Not traveling business class so I'll miss the pampering and good food. Hope I can get a few hours of sleep so as to be ready to hit the ground running upon arrival. We shall see.
As I drove toward Albuquerque, I had the memory of Bugs Bunny. This is where he would have always taken a wrong turn... in Albuquerque.
The "truth is stranger then fiction" part of this entry begins with my car's engine light coming on. If you've payed attention, this issue came up back in July; when I was entering Canada and took my car to a service place in Quebec city. The issue was never resolved and I knew ...
... on stopping and the Sandia Casino. Yep, I got another players club card. But I only got $20 free play this time. But after 2 hours, I walked out the door with $43 of their money. Pretty good, don't you think?
And that's about it for today. Time for bed. Tomorrow I am off to a goat farm. Tune in tomorrow night to find out why.
... Unfortunately we were 3 days too late. The majority of the birds, thousands, had already taken off. There were a few still there and the sunrise was beautiful.
We then drove southwest to Silver City for a few days of exploring.
... no people, no towns, no Sonic.....nothing. Albuquerque was supposed to be something, but it too was pretty much your run-of-the-mill town, couple buildings, parks, and a square block called "old-town," with some adobe looking structures, a Mexican restaurant, and souvenir shops....at least I was able to get a keychain. We stayed 20 minutes, then back on Interstate 40, the old route 66, on our way to Farmington, NM.
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States leoj89... the Acoma's strong family and cultural values. The rapid rise in employment has helped keep their children from leaving the Pueblo to seek work in other cites and states. There are times I love being proved wrong. Thanks Rayes. You were SO right! Back into Albuquerque. This is one of my favorite cities. We've put 2600 miles on the car. I'm feeling as "used" as the car. The decision is what to do in the few remaing hours of sunlight. Dinner is the first priortiy. Our ...

... she was "out of immigration status". The cancer progressed and she finally went home to Mexico where she shortly passed away! I am a strong supporter of border security. We must have it! Yet, I have been afraid to speak out before now because of my fear this message might be mis understood. I am a very patriotic person. I love my country. However, I subscribe to the belief immigration reform will make our borders ...
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States lavidanueva... ant in a topsy turvy rainbow rainstorm. Aerodynamics has nothing to do with it - a cow floated calmly by followed by a pirate in a rum barrel and a matched pair of bumblebees, a pig, an elephant and a Wells Fargo stagecoach. By 9:00am it's all over, everyone is off the field but you are still seeing diminishing coloured specks floating before your eyes and following the push of the wind. The following day, rising at 4:30am, we volunteered as chase crew on the ...
