We woke up to sunshine which was the first we had seen in days so I was sort of feeling torn between racing home or spending a few moments checking out the Lake. We asked for some suggestions from the front desk and got a great tip to take the scenic drive up Prospect Mountain which was literally a few blocks away. The drive cost $10 but had several view points out over the lake ...

... my key. I thought that it would be unlocked but it wasn’t. I went around front to yell up to mom (since I knew we had the windows open and were right above the main porch area) but I tried the front door and thankfully that was open. The learning curve was not helped by the virtually constant downpour that we faced ...

... squats and lunges and a few others but felt good afterwards.

Little bit of housework (washing again) before heading out for dinner.

We have been daring and booked a hotel in New York City. Comfort Inn at Manhattan Bridge. They gave a good rate for a 3 night stay, Friday night to Monday morning. They have parking attached and Wes feels he should be able to drive us there. We will have our walking shoes on to cover all the sights. Will even go out at night!

... had his breakfast of toast with his own peanut butter and I had yoghurt.

Was raining slightly when we set off. Bought our lunch supplies from across the road at Big Y which must be a big chain as it had it's own home brands.

Headed west again on the Mohawk Trail towards North Adams. Stopped at Shelburne falls where we walked across a bridge which has been turned into a garden. It has been that way for many years and the wisteria are huge. Saw some glacial pot ...
