... where we picked out a canoe! A red headed guy who was seriously proud of being an Air Force vet (a young vet, and a linguist) drove us down the river and let us off. It was a beautiful sail. Not hard to row (at least where I was, in the back. Sonia may have had a harder time in the front) and not too hot. We saw ducks, birds, a heron and TURTLES!!!! GOD DANGED TURTLES. They were so cute. There were lovely bridges ...

We went shopping for some university brand clothes, and then university urban outfitters, some university Starbucks iced peach tea lemonade and finally some university books. There were a lot of kitschy Irish kids tales and photos of Ireland and even a big ol' memory photo and story hardcover book about that time ...

water. The Chicago skyline is impressive and the beach was full of
people hanging out at Lake Michigan. I don't think we're big city
people though so we headed out of Chicago and back into Indiana.

It's been a few days without showers

... the Sunny Days Laundromat in Portage IN, not far from where we were. It was great - clean and roomy, and the lady who worked there was very helpful. And it had free wi-fi. We got the laundry done and headed for Chicago. (Oh yeah, before we did the laundry Kelly had a hankering for White Castle, so we grabbed a few burgers. I give White Castle the over packaging award - everything was in small boxes plus they gave us paper plates...don't really need all that!.)
