We were hungry and it was about 6pm ..We had just left Ross' clothing shopping and I wanted something different but good..So, we saw the sign for Pollo Tropical...well hell, it's hard to miss a big yellow building too...lol!!!
... we'll miss the worst of it.
Made good time today. Stopped just outside Nashville after some fine BBQ at Martin's Old Fashioned BBQ. 600 miles total. Missed most of the rain but the front is passing through now and saw some amazing lightning.
I read to Lori and only played a little country music.
... tour with a photo op on center stage at the Opry, which was really quite fun. The Opry was a fascinating place with so much history.
We then moved on to the Country Music Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville. This is another place where country music stars and their memorabilia are in full display. From Elvis Presley's 1960 gold plated Cadillac to Carrie Underwood's wardrobe from her recent tour, ...
... was clean and we got a load of laundry done. Mark chats up an Iraq War Veteran who is there getting his CDL certification. Another older gent who is on vacation jumps in. We can't figure how the current administration ever got in. Ohio, Mississippi and New Hampshire, three different areas of the nation; three different upbringings.... all mystified. Don't buy the new forever stamp.... it's not just a pretty ...
... came across an Amish community riding their carriages on the road. As we had not seen them before it was very interesting to see how they dressed etc, in fact it didnt look like they had changed for 100 years! As we pushed on it was getting hotter and hotter and we just wanted to get to the hotel pool to cool off so I decided to jump onto the I-40 for the last 30 miles. Boy did that pool feel good, a little chilly but so refreshing! In the evening ...
