Chapter 32: from West Mineral to West Virginia
... me some of that other campground. But there was no lake. Except for the rain -- which turned to snow at some point in the night -- and the cold, and the fact that we couldn't find any water hookup, it was just fine... except for Walt's fever kicking up again...rendering him non-compos mentis and useless for setup; except for the fact that we accepted an off-level site (off-level?? more like "steep"), so downgrade to OK.
But we're that much closer to home.

Day Two - West Virginia, Mountain Momma
... roads are definitely mountain roads - with long underground tunnels, 'runaway' lanes and all ... The roads were not as much the challenge as dealing with the kamikaze truck drivers (no offense). The trucks clustered together as they slowly worked their way up the long mountain roads. Then, so happy to reach the top they would race to the bottom. There was a steady parade of trucks following this pattern. ...
Getting Ready.
... meeting here have been pretty cool. Sean's uncle is a great guy, and is letting us stay at his place until we leave. We had a bunch of pizza last night. Not sure when we're leaving. We have some work coming up soon, so we'll make a bit more money. Probably leaving in about a week give or take to really start the bike-ride.

With a long hilly ride staring us in the face, we decided to leave early (5:15 am) so that we could try to accomplish the full 143 miles and still arrive at the hotel before dark.
