Bourbon and Lincoln
... home. Then found the Bourbon Trail (learned much ... and tasted some ... ). Clouds cleared last night. Beautiful sunny day today - about 68 degrees - just visited Old Kentucky Home - where Steven Foster wrote the song ... Now heading back to Bourbon Trail (Jim Beam or bust) and onto to John Audabon St. Park. (also in Kentucky). Birds, bourbon and maybe golf for Pete.

Beautiful day, beuatiful people and 77 miles
... do all the miles today........my next stop was is Hogensville where Abe Lincoln was to have grown up, the town had a circle park with pretty flowers, statue of Abe and another statue of a little boy.....it was so beautiful. ˆthought I should get some sunscreen as it was pretty hot and it had been awhile since I had put any on. so I saw this pharmacy and went in and met Steve the owner of Smith Drug Co. and his assistant Annette...She as everyone does asked me how ...
Another hot day but roads were nice
... to back track 10 miles and that didn't make me very happy, but all in all the first 6 miles were head winds and then the turn helped and eased into tail winds for most of the day. I thought I had taken a wrong turn back about a mile and so stopped a guy in a car and he assured me I was headed the right direction....well then I came to where I was to turn right and then a left and I couldn't see the left so I stopped ...

12 - 2 Picnic Lunch Abraham Lincoln NHS Plus Boyhood Home * had a nice picnic lunch overlooking a meadow of colorful grasses, peaceful and perfect 2 - 2:30 Drive to My Old Kentucky Home State Park Approx 25 miles * bought the best chocolate ever at the gift shop buffalo trace chocolates with real Kentucky bourbon. Had to find more! ...
