This is a great hotel. Convenient location near the interstate with restaurants within walking distance. Room was very clean. The hotel was quiet. The staff is wonderful. The hot breakfast in the morning was great! Best part about breakfast - the TV wasn't blaring in the room, so it was quiet enough for conversation. Highly recommend!

... in North Little Rock, not Little Rock. There is just a bit of a difference. We traveled over to Little Rock the same day and saw the Little Rock Central High School where the 15,000 National Guard soldiers had to escort nine young black kids into the school in 1957. This area has been through some difficult times in the past. The school is beautiful and still looks as it did in the late fifties. Everyone that we have meet so far ...

Our last stop was with Lauren and Eric, Luke and John William in Little Rock, Arkansas. The boys had a blast swimming and the girls had some great cuzzie time too. Eric even had a break from call and was able to eat dinner with us. We woke up the next morning and headed all the way into New Iberia. The family was waiting for us with a warm welcome. We all agreed 10 days and about 3000 miles across the country was surprisingly fun! And God blessed us with a safe trek ...

... phenomenal restaurant in Little Rock called The Pantry. European-inspired cuisine with a touch of the south. I had braised beef shoulder, Mara had Hungarian goulash. It was truly a great establishment.

On to Austin in the morning!

... We didn’t stop in any one location for too long today which got us to the campground by 3:30. It was suppose to be cooler here (which I guess it is at 36 degrees Celsius) but it feels a lot hotter with the humidity. Thank goodness the kids were able to hit the pool!

... to the High School and we have to say we found the story fascinating. As neither of us has grown up surrounded by segregation, we really had no idea how bad desegregation could be. You would think it would be simple to allow black students to learn side by side with white, we do now! However, this was a southern state and at that time, they still saw blacks as second rate citizens. The first of the nine ...
