Adequate accommodations for an overnight stay

The Fairfield Inn was totally booked as many people must stop in Lake City before heading out the next morning for their final destination in Florida. The hotel was clean and functional for a one night stop with an adequate breakfast included in the nightly rate.

So, we've been sailing now for 6+days & I have to tell ya - if a person isn't relaxed by this point, there's something wrong with them! This has been a lovely trip so far - despite both Jim & I dealing with minor colds the last few days - I'm pretty much recovered. Jim's closer. We both baked in the sun yesterday & napped a lot on our deck - very soothing listening to the ocean. Food on board is better than it was on ...

... I said I hoped she was Canadian. The movie offerings are actually good this time. I want to see Philomena and Fruitvale Station. Also, our buddy Greg the magician is still here! We'll catch his show tonight. Heading to trivia, more later. Our team tied for 2nd. 8 on a team. It was fun. The magic show was hilarious. He is a real comedian. We lose one hour ...

What a crazy day! Woke up at 2:30am to drive to the airport! We took a flight from bradley to Miami and then Miami to San Jose. We arrived in San Jose and by the time we went through customs it was almost 1:30pm (Costa Rica time, one hour behind)! Our driver Roland (? Cant really remember his name it was Ro...something, so lets just call him Roland) was there waiting for us in plain sight. It was remarkable, we made it without any issues!! And to think ...

... the world in Thom’s Cessna 180 (dinner was another Earthrounders mini-reunion!). They invited me to their home in the countryside southwest of Lake City along a private airstrip, Little River residential airpark (FL10). Thom and Veronica would like to make the trip to South America and Antarctica someday so we talked about the planning and permit issues. It was a fantastic dinner and great fun to swap stories about our adventures flying little planes to far-flung ...

... Kai went out to meet her friends and their two munchkins who came back to spend the day playing in the lounge room. It was a pretty lazy day only broken up by a short trip to the playground which was cut short by a thunderstorm that rolled in. The weather here is sub-tropical meaning that there is a wet season and a dry season. It isn’t quite the dry season yet which starts at Christmas and also marks the start of the busy tourist season down here. Everyone tries to ...
