... exchanging emails since 2005 and when Jim and Flo found out we were in the next state they very kindly invited us to stay with them.
We had an amazing 3 days with the Niestroy family and friends.
When we got off the last bus in Flint, we spotted a smiling, knd lady - we knew straightaway it was Flo, she gave us a big hung and took us to their beautiful house in Fenton where we met her husband Jim and their daughter Beth. Jim surprised us as he remembered what his Grandpa used ...
We got up at 2:30 in the morning to start our EPIC road trip of a lifetime! Then we hit the road at 3:15 and it was smooth sailing to Chicago. Annalena had no problem sleeping for the majority of the drive, and the rest of the time she was happy and excited to be in the car. It was a great start to our trip.

... and drive us to our first stop, a senior center. It was a great audience that met us there, filled with senior citizens and a few of their grandchildren who were visiting. While John performed, I sat off to the side and made a few sponsor phone calls. In the middle of his program, Kim showed up.

... townships. I guess I never spent much time in Michigan so it was great to know friends and family had found these gems to settle in and enjoy.
Speaking of art....Billy had finished only one painting at that point but had decided he was going to commit to one painting per state on "The Tour" not necessariily OF each state but one per state.
