    New York to Huntington

A travel blog entry by steveguy on Sep 21, 2015

Well avid readers we escaped from New York. Didn't they make a movie about that? With Kurt Russell about a giant prison. Our destination was Huntington because we always seem to end up in dodgy places. Huntington is the second-largest city in West Virginia and the self-proclaimed "Weenie Capital of the East." Situated along the banks of the Ohio River, Huntington is home to Marshall University a state-supported ...

    Heading to North Carolina

Took off from Illinois at about 9:00. We drove about 600 miles
and boondoggled (Sheila says boondocked, not sure which one is right) at a rest
area in Ashland, Kentucky. Tomorrow, we have about 400 miles to go to get to
Zack’s. With an early start, we should get there about 2:00pm.

    Happy Trails,

We arrived back at the campsite about 6pm and the sky let loose again. We had planned on attending an outdoor concert and ...

This morning we went to Mill Run, PA to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater house.

Oh my! Definitely click on the photo above to see it bigger. This was the "summer cottage" of the Edgar Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh. The Kaufmanns owned the property and had a retreat here, but decided they wanted a bigger place. They met Wright because their ...

    A Nice Stopover

A travel blog entry by gauke on Oct 19, 2014

... chips and apples - yea! Were only there 13 minutes and I took off driving. Drove just a bit and Jerry saw a sign for gas at $2.85 at a Pilot so we stopped there and filled up the RV and the car. Tracked the mileage and we got 7.13 this time. While we were there Jerry tried to start the car and the battery was dead yet again. Think we will be getting either a battery charger or a battery disconnect soon. Although I said ...
