Failte Hotel Killarney

Well this morning we woke to heavy heads and grey skies. A quick brekkie and we were off on the bus once more. We drove along the Dingle peninsula for a while, which some breathtaking cliffs and scenery. At one stage we got off the bus to take some photos, and Mike closed the doors and drove a little way down the road - enforcing some fresh air and exercise! ... Ireland because they&#8217;ll soon be too old to rent a car. They&#8217;re returning home next week by way of Dublin and they haven&#8217;t been to some of our favorite places along the way, so we shared information.<br><br>We&#8217;ve gone through all our clothes and have everything for our final days in one suitcase. We&#8217;re starting to get ready to go home, and while there&#8217;s still a lot to see and do, I think we&#8217;ll be happy when Saturday is here.

We decided to do the Ring of Kerry trip, a lovely trip around the south west cape of Ireland, approx 160 kms on our own than on a bus.. glad we did they were full of old Americans.. woops!! There was heaps here that we didn't see as we only had a few days until Amy had to head back to Australia. ... a little out of the main part of town to another retail park area - Deer Park. It wasn't looking that bad when we set off and we did wonder whether it would be a good idea.... but decided we didn't really have that much else to do... ... had a scone and a big pot of tea in this cute cafe with a fire. Lovely! Drove on to a very falic looking stone which if you rub your bottom on it is supposed to improve your fertility. Thought it was a load of rubbish but gave it a quick rub just to be on the safe side. ... strolled around and looked over Killarney. We saw many interesting street signs, , and also went past St. Mary's Cathedral. St Mary's Cathedral is a very interesting place and an extremely beautiful piece of architecture. , Well. . . I better finish up for tonight (It's pretty late here). Now for the drive to the Southwest Coast, another three hour drive to play Waterville, Ballybunion Old Course and Ballybunion Cashen course. Our new home base is a Best Western Hotel in Killarney. Limited accommodations but the town is very friendly and a major tourist spot. Not something I am too keen on. However, it's the mid-point for our next three days.
