... time trying to sell drinks, but on this cruise we have to go looking for them. I think I prefer it this way. If I want a drink, I will get it and I don’t have to constantly say "No thanks".

Just as we were finished eating another couple from our group came in to eat so we sat with them & visited a bit. They had a horrific time yesterday in Vietnam. They did the Hoi An tour & their tour guide ...

Hoi An, Vietnam dmasson... Russell’s suitcase was returned looking as good as new. The roof was repaired the next day. We have seen a lot of tiny frogs, less than 1 cm. The girls call them toads, but they look cute. There was also a lizard in our bedroom, but we don’t know where it has gone!! There are snakes around, near our house, but they have not been inside yet. The locals say they are harmless!!

Sue and Russ had intended to spend their final few days here in the Golden Sands ...
Hoi An, Vietnam markrob... the city
became dark – literally. Several days before we arrived a typhoon
hit the area and the residents are still cleaning up. So for about an
hour the city went dark. We took refuge at a French restaurant which
had a generator and were treated to amazing chocolate mousse – one
of the best I've ever had!

Today, we took in some sights while walking slowly under the hot ...
Hoi An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam carlaandmike... pretty gnarly. Than we headed back to my friend Ryan's 11th storey apartment overlooking Da Nang and watched the city for a bit. It was weird not to see any lights and not much movement. We played some nerts and decided to go home. Once we got home I had almost forgotten that I had some beef in the freezer that was probably going to go bad with no electricity. So I cooked 4 lbs. of beef with taco seasoning, by head lamp of course. ahah. And we also made ...
Da Nang, Da Nang, Vietnam spidey788... but with the kind of weather central Vietnam suffers from (climate is described as tropical monsoon), I'm sure there are a lot of leaky roofs around. Otherwise we were comfortable and had a view of the latte-colored Thu Bon River which, during our stay, was really swollen and fast-moving. Our room was located near a busy ferry route, and the boats seemed to run 24 hours a day. None appeared to have a muffler. It was like listening to helicopters at close range ...
Hoi An, Vietnam lisabrazWe decided to take a day to chill after a crazy week. We hit up a resort, paid 5$ USD and got access to pool tables, two pools to swim in, good food, a clean beach, and comfy lounge chairs. took some funny video too. So check it out and laugh.......or whatever. ahaha.
Da Nang, Ðà Nẵng, Vietnam spidey788... busy-busy tourists a-buzzing.

Later in the week we hired bicycles and took off down country roads, pausing to spy on farmers and The Party, and watching women going about their cycling business in their Non La hats. Later still, we hired a moped and took turns to zip each other along the coast to visit the nearby beaches. We were afflicted with a flat tyre, which some locals happily repaired for us at the side of the road, before reaching a fantastic Virgin Mary ...
Hoi An, Vietnam ianandfinolaNachdem ich ein paar Tage in Sydney v**bracht habe, ging es dann endlich nach Bangkok. Da Nang, Vietnam aggi... brother of the owner (there were actually 5 brothers) was particularly interested in me because he found that I am American and insisted on talked to me for the rest of dinner. Since the Tet holiday was wrapping up, this was kind of a final dinner celebration for the family, so naturally the beer was flowing and all kinds of food was coming out of the woodwork, which I couldn't refuse. The drunker the brother got, the more eager he was to talk ...
