We were up and about early, keen and raring to go, especially as the winds had lessened somewhat and the skies, at least initially, were blue. The forecast promised light breezes and some rain late morning, so we reckoned that with luck we would be at or close to, Middlefart by the time the rain came. However, by the time we'd had breakfast, the skies were ...

... despite the boat being slowed down by the waves. Having cleared the land and improved the sailing angle, we were able to get the sails working and sailing as tight as we could to the F4 westerly wind, we clocked along at 6 knots, hoping to clear the headland of the neighbouring island, Ĉrĝ, where we’d spent a lovely few days in 2013. We were able to clear the headland without tacking (just) and once clear, we sailed ...

... Germany has no reductions for seniors....

We first made our way to a separate building to see the Nydambaden (Danish)/ Nydamboot (German) This is a 4thC Viking boat, found almost intact in a bog at Nydam, nearby, in 1863.

It has been 'fought 'over by Germany and Denmark ever since!. It was at Kiel, ...
