Happy 4th of July. We all slept in today....staying out past 2 a.m. and getting up at our usual time of around 5:30 or 6 just wouldn't cut it. Fortunately most of Buenos Aires is also sleeping in a bit after such nights. We wanted to go down and check out the waterfront area in greater detail and more specifically a hotel here called the Faena Hotel + Universe www.faenahotelanduniverse.com . We were not able to take photos since we were not staying there - so check out the web site and the fe...
Buenos Aires, Argentina jimstephkruegerHere we are... Our last days of our trip. I cannot believe that it has come to an end. It has been an incredible journey and what better way to end it than in the fashionable, modern, relaxed city of Buenos Aires. We had two goals on Wednesday... one was to go to the Recoleta Cemetery, one of the most well known attractions in BA and the other to go to American Express to exchange our travelers checks so as to pay our rental company (who for some unknown reason cannot accept a credit card) fo...
Buenos Aires, Argentina lisaludwigGreetings from Montevideo, Uruguay! All has been extremely well and Buenos Aires rocked! En route from Encarnacion to Buenos Aires proved to be more adventerous than expected. As we boarded the bus at 6pm, the ETA was 6am. A twelve hour tour, nothing a couple of seaoned backpackers couldn't handle. We got off the bus at noon, 18 hours later. But that's not where the fun begins nor ends. After boarding the bus, I nestled into my nugget of a seat only to be woken minutes later by my neighbor (s...

Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina jalswaThe cold and rain blew through my clothes taking and warmth I had away as I step outside the airport automatic doors. Quite a stark difference from Guatemala I think. What have I done? Next mission, find the bus station to take me 19 hours south to San Carlos de Bariloche. First, I had to get a small bus to one station, take a taxi to another, and walk around ...

Buenos Aires, Argentina 3trippers... discounted, yet equally filling lunch consisting of the same meats, salads bar, french fries, deserts and included bottle of wine (PER PERSON!) or pitcher of beer, soda or water that are all served buffet-style at the dinner sitting. The third day of the 3-day stint would certainly be sprent recuperatingting and walking off the excessive amounts of animal flesh and that you just spent the previous two days consuming. Siga La Vaca literallyally translated means Follow the Cow ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina johnnytravel... in a bar called Gibraltar in San Telmo. As though the lord himself had intended, they had a curry on the menu!!! and my god, was it the tastiest meal i've had in weeks!! Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina willandmir... the folder completely............................. .................there´s lots of things I said at this point and there were tears. The lovely lady in the cafe did call the technical bod to see if there was anyway of retrieving them, but it really was turning out to be Friday the 13th. A little later I found the boys (they hadn´t come across my camera either - my last hope) and I joined them on their mission to get bus tickets - then some ...
