... chapel and upper chapel. The lower is beautiful with it's arches and columns. Up a short flight of curving steps is the upper chapel. I walked through the doorway and it was just breathtaking. The 15 stained glass windows surround you and glow in the light. I was so impressed and that they have survived for so long.

... followed Phil to the Eiffel Tower to watch the light show. Every hour on the hour at night the Eiffel Tower "twinkles". We watched the tower twinkle with lights and wandered around the tower. It was close to midnight so the group I was with decided to have our first midnight in Paris directly under the Eiffel Tower and watch another light show. A walk to the river and back to the hotel ended the night.

... oldies (in their forties?) and a few couples but good overall. We generally spend one day on the bus then one day touring which is exhausting but a great way to see everything. After arriving in Paris we checked in then went to a local restaurant which we had snails (which are delish), authentic French onion soup and chicken and vegie ragout which was super yummy. Afterwards we went on a city lights tour to see the main attractions at ...
... A short walk further brought us to a very trendy, and largely gay, area. There looked to be lots of cool shops, but this being Sunday all were closed. We saw a subway entrance not too far ahead so we made our way towards it. It ended up being right across from the Louvre, so we detoured into there and walked around the grounds, again not wanting to wait in line to get in and deciding that we may have to come back to Paris some day to have a peek inside these places ...
