Beach Paradise

A travel blog entry by anlnewby on Jun 11, 2015

Today started like the last few. An early wake up for me and a nice gentle sleep in for Lisa. Today Lisa was happy to make breakfast and did a wonderful job. The day started cloudy and we weren't sure whether it would be a good day to camp out at the beach for the whole day. We decided to go anyway and the cloud cover soon moved to a beautiful sunny day. The water was amazing and fresh like ice to our warm ...

... out, being right beside it. After seeing the other huts we could have stayed in, I was very happy with our shack! After getting settled we met Allison and Kayla on the beach where we laid there almost all afternoon. Now potatoes on Naxos are a whole new story. The island is famous for them and they are DELICIOUS. Can't believe the difference. Back to ...

Most of us chose to go for a walk through the town centre which was a twenty minute walk from the port. We stopped at a gelato shop because many were craving it and some needed Internet and a power plug. After this visit we caught taxis to the port to prepare for dinner and then headed back into ...

... more night life here than in the last few years…ok, maybe ever for Angela. (ya, ya, we know…we are getting old and boring…)

During the day Ria takes us out and shows us her island: chains of hills covered in scrub, small quiet beaches…beautiful old villages with medieval stone alleyways and impressive Greek Orthodox and Catholic churches. Many of the people we would see around the island were friends of Ria. Everywhere you go there ...
