Its always a little awkward doing this wild camping thing. Its not officially illigal, but its definitely not somethig that parents teach their kids. When jan climbed out the tent this morning, he startled an early morning dog walker who wasnt quite sure what to make of the situation.
We packed up rather quickly after that, and breakfasted on the almighty coco-pops. Om-nom-nom! We never buy this **** at home, but on a bike tour, we can ...

... right feeling turned into pain, and then into alot of pain by the end of the day. I guess this made me a rather irritating travel partner to jan. Tough. It hurt.
At some point we decided we wanted pizza for lunch. Up until now weve been having light lunches and then cooking something heavy for dinner... saving money and what not. But today, because its sunday, and all the shops are closed, and we have no food, and ...

and it was under pretty major construction. I'm sure it's very
impressive, but our timing was just a bit off. The rest of Freiburg was
pretty built up and commercialized, mostly due to it being a college
town I'm sure. It wasn't one of my favorite places in Germany thus far,
but like all German towns, it did have some cool architecture. One
hallmark of the Schwarzwald region is the natural springs. ...

... Even my little home town is buzzing on a Sunday morning. We did happen upon a military ceremony of some kind. They had a bugler, lots of French flags and they played the French national Anthem.....wish I could remember the words....Sheryl?? LOL We popped into the Textile Museum but unfortunately it was closing at midday and not reopening until 2pm. The siesta is alive and well in Mulhouse. For €9 we kept going. If you were interested in the history and design ...

    Arriving in Basel

... 160; A helpful chap drew us a map on a piece of scrap paper. He put a cross for where he said there was a church. Apart from that the "map" seemed to be one wavy line with no other landmarks or roads. After driving round the block a few times - sounds familiar. - I said we had no choice, we'd have to ring Richard. We pulled up outside a large building with a tower holding three bells out the front. The bells should have been a clue. ...
