    I need to mark Basel on the map & would also like to say to anyone reading this that might be planning a trip to the area, we stayed at The Passage hotel - it was EXCELLENT ! and I would highly recommend it; awesome shower, big rooms, comfy bed, mini fridge (if you can afford that sort of thing), a fantastic gym downstairs, and just a hop, skip, and jump away from anything and everything you could possibly want. ...

    ... so far speak English - I don't think we'll be meeting them on their ground. The other culture shock has been the prices here - suddenly our 2 Euro coffee is 4.5 Francs and everything else seems to be similarly expensive. France really represents good value when travelling so it is particularly noticeable now that we have crossed into Switzerland.
