Today we are docked in Breisach in the south west of Germany and the sun is shining in blue skies, hooray! But it is only 2 degrees with no wind. We are leaving at 12:15 for an excursion through the Black Forest, so no lunch. However they won't let us starve so there was breakfast available until 9:00 and then brunch available from 9:30 until 11:30. How can I describe his work, maybe the best way to understand is through the photos but they are large ...

We left dark and early on a water taxi for the train station. It was 2 and a half hours to Milan and I slept half the way there. Milan to Basel was 4 hours and a beautiful ride. We rode past lake Como and planned the area as a stop for our next European vacation. It was gorgeous. We also rode passed the snow capped peaks of the Swiss Alps. The mountains were HUGE and the little towns were nestled right up to the base of them. It was quite picturesque. I tried to capture a ...

... well as a place to cool off in! Most of the locals get around on bikes which was great to see! Thanks to our visit here we will no longer be on island time at our cottage! I purchased an original Swiss railway clock as a useful souvenir!!! Werner is very kindly transporting it in his newly acquired basket!!!

Having left Basel from the train station which is actually in Germany (confusing, I know) we trained a short distance and then cycled about 20 kl ...
