We had a great sleep last night in our little third floor pension which we found online. The bed was great as was this mornings European breakfast. After checking out, we walked through Haslach and took a few photos of this neat little Black Forest town.

Heading north, we passed through Lichtenau and of course had to stop at 7 Sommerfeld Strasse, our first home away from home (1975-78) The Murphy gang might remember that there was an Edeka grocery ...

As you approach the end of the long hallway, you start to feel the vibration and hear the rumble of the ship's engines. For some people that would be a problem. Even the agent who booked us didn't recommend it. Somehow, we followed our instincts and booked ...

... great shots from up there,

Melinda and I had visited Cologne in the late 1990's and I fondly remembered a great patisserie we had both enjoyed. It has been replaced by a very ordinary bakery/café. They sell good coffee, though. While I went in search of a pharmacy to get something to ease my sore throat, Joy sought out the Eau de Cologne shop and learned a little of ...
