... a pleasant experience. And we were not wrong. By midday it was quite warm and we finally shed our jackets for the kind of Paris sunshine that we had expected. Lovely. Our rain jackets and 'Love Paris' umbrella (yes, I know that's embarrassing - guilty as charged) didn't get a look in today.

What was also nice was that it was Saturday and all Paris seemed to come out to play. The parks were busy with children playing, games of bocce, ...

... to the ballet in this absolutely wonderful setting was an experience and a half, however with me feeling a little unwell, not having the best seats (I could only see maybe 10% of the stage without standing) and it being a contemporary piece I did not enjoy it as much as the other two. I ended up laying down on the couch and having a nap in the back of our box. I very much enjoy the more traditional ballet so the part os the ballet I did see I didn't enjoy so much. The ...

... a month. Apparently no animals would enter the square due to the stench of blood and two statues represent this at the entrance of the avenue Champs Elysees. In the centre of the square now is the Luxor Obelisk also known as Cleopatra’s Needle. It is 3,300 years old and was a present from Egypt in 1829, but when Egypt wanted it back the French refused and gave them a broken clock… bit rude. We did see the model posing here and several brides getting ...
