... exactly another's, but they can give a good idea of what to expect. More exact information can be gathered from official websites, but many are not in English. If you do a Google search on where you're going there's a "translate page" option to the right of the link, it translates most of any page into English without installing any language packages onto your computer. *Try to learn the language. Bothell, Washington, United States strawberilolita... to a soft patch (that really got me). There were different options of doors to go into, I wasn't sure what they said but we just picked a random one. We wound up in a waiting room with glowing floor and the hostess (dressed in a short pleather cop suit) got ready to seat us. First, she carded me (lol, the first time the whole trip). I handed her my passport and she took a look at it. Then she got out a piece of paper and asked me to spell my name. She ...

Bothell, Washington, United States strawberilolita... two birds with one stone as the library happened to be virtually the only thing that Donna liked about Vancouver! I returned to Seattle after my few days in Vancouver, the place where it all started seven weeks prior. The time had certainly flown by, and I'd had an amazing time, but I was quite content to be going home - I'd fulfilled all my ambitions for this trip, and I had a whole lot of memories to take with me..............
Seattle, Washington, United States richAfter a busy evening of final packing, shopping and searching for all the essentials, I drove Patrick to my place to crash at around 1:30am. A refreshing 2 hours of sleep later, I got up and caffeinated and picked up Nathan and Valerie so we could hop a taxi-van to SeaTac at 5am. The American Airline cancellations didn't effect us, so we had an ample 2 hours to relax in the terminal with a coffee, muffin, and Wendy's hamburgers. To each his own ...

Bothell, Washington, United States strawberilolita... called the tour company that did the Shipton's Arch tour mentioned in Adventure magazine and signed on. Then I started buying books and maps and more books and more maps until I had more books than I could read in six months and more maps than I could carry with me. I bought a digital camera (and a book on how to use it) and took a couple of classes. I read the tour company's list of stuff to bring (mostly hiking and camping gear and first-aid supplies), re-read parts of ...
Seattle, Washington, United States scottk... asked to practice English with us when we were at a beach. We knew he was trustworthy because we sat next to him (not the other way around) and his English was pretty bad. He did need practice. Usually the scammers have great English and they hang around the touristy spots. Don't trust people just loitering around touristy spots offering advice. Big red flag. Anyone else have some good scams to note? If so, leave them in our comments!
Seattle, Washington, United States thetembasDecember 1 and I have snow in my yard! Unbelievable, for this temperate-clime convergence-zone area of Washington state. They are ecstatic in the mountains, with early (make that prosperous) openings for the ski runs. When I announced that I was moving to Seattle, way back in 1980, everyone in the south visualized me in parka and snowboots, barely surviving the winter in dim igloo light. It's so far NORTH. One of my southern grandsons was afraid to visit Seattle ...
