The neatest thing, though, was when I asked him what his favorite activity of the trip had been: "Having adventures with you, Dad". Like the commercial says, "Priceless".

As we entered the Cascades near Ellensberg, WA, we could see a series of large forest fires across our route of flight.

In the middle of the Cascades, I turned off the satellite radio and hooked up my iPad to the music ...

... minister, etc. The people in the group were all well traveled.
-Weather was just about perfect except for about 3 days when they had an unexpected heat wave(107 degrees one day). The only rain we had was a ten minute "misting" one morning. The rest of the time it was sun, sun, and more sun.
-Cork comes from tree bark! I did not know that.
-Pastel de Nata (that custard cup) is the best!

... ourselves down and watched the ceremony! Awful wedding dress though.. After the park, we walked along the promenade by the sea for a couple of hours and relaxed in the sunshine. Then back to the house to chill in the garden for the afternoon reading with a cold beer. Tomorrow we have to give the car back which we are dreading as we have got used to throwing ...

Shortly after takeoff, I heard a noise below the cabin and the plane started shaking. I looked at Sean and said, "Did the landing gear just come down? It must have. Oh geez, did something go wrong? Are we heading back to the airport?"
