Made it down the bay overnight

Survived a wild ride down the bay. Some of the roughest conditions we have experienced on the Chesapeake. Big waves. 30+ kt winds and lots of driving rain. Enjoyed our new cockpit enclosures as well as the heater we installed below. The AIS system which allowed us to identify ships during the night was a big help.

Navy ships don't use AIS so we slowed to enter Hampton Roads after sunrise. Still, with heavy ...

... that fresh salt air. There's miles of beach & you could see the 23 Mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. An interesting sight as the bridge stops at a man made island in the middle of the bay where it becomes a tunnel for a while, then the bidge starts again & continues to the other side!

Now its getting dark at 5pm, BBQing has to be done by flashlight!!

We found some interesting shells ...

It seems like 100 years ago now, but shortly after both Stuart & Sylvia and Craig & Mandy-Jane bought their Harleys a pleasant dinner was being enjoyed. Possibly a couple of glasses had been consumed, and it is likely that one or two of Stuart’s normal jokes had been aired. “Why don’t we ride our Harley’s coast to coast?” someone said. "What a fine idea" came the reply. And so ...

... poor effort to tie it...

When we got out of the water we laid in the sun and then played some bocci ball. That was a good time :) We weren't there too long though. We left to bring Joel's stuff back to his house and hung out with his family for a little while talking about the cruise and how much fun we all had. Everyone told embarrassing stories about my dancing, Joe's sexy man competition and Dipan's salsa skills! We were all wishing we could go back...

... behind me on the plane. We sang some of the fight song and like a true Nole he kept trying to get us to chug beers. Alas I am past my beer chugging prime, especially if its going to be done at such great heights. However we did have some fun when we noticed the gator 2 rows up. He said he was blocking out the fight song, to which we said we would just get drunk and throw things at him. He said that was typical fsu behavior. I thought he was a typical stuck up ...
