We sat in the cockpit of a Lockheed Blackbird, smiled at the carplane from the 1950s and were amazed at the flimsiness of the warplanes from WW1. Outside in air park you could climb aboard Concorde. ... We took the monorail to Westlake Center, where Grandpa sat and then wandered around the shopping center while I ran to Pike Place Market and explored. Oh my goodness, Pike Place Market alone would make me want to live in Seattle! Fresh produce! Gorgeous flowers! Awesome souvenirs! Serious local color. ... Tahoe, our bodies telling us to slow down or contracting whatever viruses were going around the states at the time. The first day we spent in a clinic getting Lu antibiotics and then Sam who started to get sick in Tahoe got sick again. Sam was down and out the first night. The other kids could not contain themselves with excitement and we had a great time catching up with Mary Page. Conversations covered the Morrills and Baltimore.
