It's sad to leave our buds in Indianapolis, but we had to start making our way West. We left Noblesville around 9am after making a quick trip to the grocery store [side note, I have started a great collection of grocery discount cards, today I got one at Kroegers :-) ]. ... were made, the store owner graciously gave us a ride back to the boat. He also gave us the lowdown on a local restaurant that was within a dinghy ride from the marina, so we enjoyed a night out in Rik's dinghy in Benton Harbor for a great dinner with Rik and Nancy.

... lunch in a 200yr old brewery and ending up at the St Louis courthouse. It was here that the court case deciding the future of a slave named Dred Scott was held. Dred Scott sued the American government for his freedom from slavery for more than 10 years. The eventual decision against him and the election of Abraham Lincoln as the 16th President in 1860 were the catalyst for the American Civil War.

Then a general store that had been there since the 1920s, with some souvenirs alongside general grocery products.
