We spent over 2 hours and could have been here much longer, but still had all of the flat lands and beautiful big skies of Indiana and Illinois to drive through. It was a long, long day in the car and we finally crossed the Mighty Mississippi and made it to St Louis, Missouri by 11 PM.

planned community-in fact I think it is a planned community.
We left Memphis and drove down I-55 S toward Vicksburg, MS. We stopped at
the Pilot truck stop in Winona and had lunch at the Taco Bell which is in their facility.
Then we looked in the convenience store and they had lots of stuff; really good
selection of candy, drinks, snacks and they had trucking supplies as well. It ...

The Old Courthouse, built during the Civil War, was the site of the local Dred Scott Decision. Remember your history classes? ... that woke us up...and we continued on. We found a delightful rest stop for nap #3 then stopped for some lunch just outside Kansas City.
After some back and forth, we decided to power through on to St. Louis. A little DQ and nap #4, we came up on St. Louis to torrential downpours in our last 10 miles after driving for 48 hours.
Such a long day, but definitely worth it. Tomorrow is GRACELAND!!!
