On the way to the "Museum of Flight' for the second visit, we also stopped off at the 'Future of Flight Aviation Centre & Boeing Tour' (they are at different sites).

... and Cathtlamet involve leaving the protected channels and going out into the Columbia itself, for portions of the trip. Alone, with no support, I choose the Skamokawa Creek option as it was much less windy and I could get closer to birds, and no chance of getting lost. I didn't have a map of the channels.
