... abroad I know enough to see it from different angles – is this family poor because they don’t live by American standards, or do we call them poor because they live in a home with a dirt floor? When I eat fruit at home I am often struck by how insipid it tastes compared to the local fruit in other countries, especially in the “poor”, small towns whose street farmers market extends for blocks and this real food is incredibly ...

... came back for Sakura about 6.20pm, and I think and hope she'd had a nice afternoon with us. We enjoyed the chance to spend time with her, and it was great. We went over the road to a nice little - very busy - Italian cafe called The Pastaria Market. Heaps of people in there - in fact people were waiting for a table after we got there. We had a lovely meal and were well satisfied, and home by ...

Morning breakfast at the airbnb was fine and we heard stories from our hosts about the Hearst castle ( where Bill had been a tour guide) ...

... I got up early & caught the bus out to an area called Pogonip, it is a big hiking area through the redwood forest with mountain lions & a million birds. It was so peaceful there, the air felt so fresh & calming, the hike was moderate not too bad at all & I took a detour to see the old lime kilns. They were still used until very recently & used to be a main income for the area. It was great to see that they had preserved them & had ...

After the difficult day cleaning and packing yesterday we needed a bit of a rest day today. We set up the trailer and had Margaritas. The new trailer is awesome! So comfortable. I got all our things stowed away and we are ready for our road trip. We are now on our way to Reno. The roads are so filled with pot holes. We should get to the Reno KOA after 8:00 ...
