    ... after hours. We were not a happy bunch. We drove in total darkness and rain so could not appreciate the lovely countryside. Truthfully, we were not feeling very appreciative. The buses rolled out again at 7 a.m. the next morning for another 2.5 hr trip to the airport where we learned that the flights (Frankfurt-London-SFO) we booked by phone from the hotel were not in either UAL's or LH's computers so, once again, we had to scramble. ...

    ... Breige Walbridge, our group leader and instructor, welcomed everyone to the program. She thoroughly covered emergency procedures, dangerous plants (poison oak) and animals (mountain lions).
