    ... smoothest days on the road are the most uneventful. We didn't have any traffic issues, we didn't get in a fight over directions or driving habits, we didn't have any rain (or hail!     ... There was excellent fielding and batting today. The kids from Mets had come out to play and win! After the game, our kids presented the opposing team with a tour ball. We had hats for the coaches. The camp organisers arranged for all kids who participated in the camp and games a medallion and there was a presentation.     Today sister, Diane and John invited us to go boating on the Sacramento River. Friends Mark and Kathy were great hosts. Mark is a professional wave board/barefoot skier . The guys did some skiing behind the boat. With temps around 100 we all (except Diane & Gerry ) took a few dips in the water off the boat along the way.     The capital city of California is resilient without a doubt. It's history includes devastating fires and long lasting floods. I guess that's what happens when you build a city at 25 feet above sea level and at the confluence of two major rivers.
