    Bob's Recap

... at least 2 hours long, and a few went to 3 hours (and in Siena, we were at the table for 4 hours all three nights, but that included a lot of conversation afterward!). I think Meg has written about this before, but they will not bring you the check unless you ask for it. They really want you to sit and enjoy the food, not just eat it so that you don’t die and then go on with your life. They want you to sit and enjoy the food even after you’ve eaten it, ...

... take this very seriously, at least at many of the places we ate, because the food was so fresh. I've learned that ingredients make all the difference in a great meal and a mediocre one. This makes me even more excited about the CSA we joined for the summer - we'll be forced to cook with the produce that is seasonal, and use fresh, local vegetables in our meals.

I did a trial run this weekend for packing and it turns out these hiking bags are not very big. I know what you're thinking: "Of course, Meg. That's why everyone looked at you like you were crazy when you said you were only packing one hiking backpack."

Okay, so my spatial reasoning leaves much to be desired. BUT - I'm glad I did a trial run, because I realized a few things that were entirely unnecessary.

    ... out.

We've never taken such a complex trip but I think we have everything ready: luggage, tickets, just the right amount of planning, and of course flat Nicole and flat Ceanna.

The poor kitties know something is up but they will have wonderful company while we are away.

Follow us along. Hopefully we'll get to update this blog regularly.

    Bye for now!
