The Azbells awoke Saturday to clouds and persistent rain showers, so we decided to postpone our trip to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello estate and take Laura to the Richmond Children's Museum, instead. We're off, once again, like a herd of turtles, or possibly even sloths. Tim got held up a bit at work, then when we were trying to leave we kept having to go back into the house for this or that—water the plants on the deck so the caretakers, who at least arrived on time, don’t have to worry about it, locate Henry so we’re sure he’s not in the house (he was under my car in the driveway), then fix the garage door which doesn’t close ...

This was a good trip--a little different from our usual trips, as we had no outdoor adventures (having been rained out at Big Thicket), but it was really interesting, and we covered a lot of history.
Next year....who knows?
... and only move it into the garage when Henry is present and it's raining. I imagine when the skunk realizes there is no more food, he'll head for greener pastures. In the meanwhile, we warned the housesitter not to enter through the garage late at night!
Other than that, packed and out by 11, as planned. The adventure begins!
