        ... CLT I ever put in my mouth. Lunch is over now it is time to hit the road.

        We crossed the Catawba River and not only do we know the name, we can spell it. Well maybe we had a little spelling help from the sign identifying the river.

        We listened to the Falcons game and they actually won. At least one of our teams won their game this weekend. Yeah...

        ... for dinner. We went to Devines Restaurant and Sports Bar for dinner. It is owned by Gene Devine since 1978. He is s former Duke football player. I learned about it from my NBF I met while watching the game in the student center. Devines is a hopping place. Typical sports bar with many TV's and lots of noise. You don't go there to talk, that's for sure. The food was not too bad. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and chicken noodle soup. Can't go wrong ...

        ... fun place called The Blue Note Grill. On the way in we passed a train trestle that went absolutely nowhere. Blue Note is a barbecue place with live music. We did not have a reservation so we could not sit in the room with the music but we could go in to listen if we wanted to. Our dinner was BBQ sandwiches, salad and ribs. This was the family home and farm of the Duke family and it was here that their first tobacco factory was located. From here they relocated to the centre of Durham and continued to build their empire which culminated in a 40 million endowment in 1924 being set up to build Trinity College which was later renamed Duke University.
