Now that I have no where to be there is no reason to make 500 miles a day. We decided to pull off about half way to Iowa. Having driven in rain for an hour it looks like it is coming back. We have stayed in this park some 20 years ago, but it looks like there are many improvements. As we pull into our site it starts to rain. It is always fun setting up in the rain. As the day turns to night the rain gets heavy and I am thankful we ...

... s ABSOLUTE favorite- chocolate marshmallow ripple! We ate too much but not all of it, (really, not all of it). A quick trip into the visitor center and off we go! Well with a few more stops... a big sailboat marina, one of the Mississippi River locks, a fantastic Buena Vista photo opportunity, the Nelson Creamery where we bought some cheese curds, (they squeak on our teeth) and dinner in Trempealeau. Not a lot according to a map, but a lot for trip ...

People don't often think, "hey, I'm gonna go to the museum today!" But I did, while on my summer adventure I made a stop at the Lakeview Museum in Peoria, Illinois. I saw some really great things there, but my favorite had to be the LEGO ART! How cool is that??? Turning a toy into a work of art really is something else. When we think of sculptural art we think of carving, molding, casting metal, whatever! With a simple child's toy (legos) we ...

... so it was great to get to know how the author came up with such a fantastic and timeless idea for a story. I wonder if there really was a boy Peter who inspired the playwright J.M. Barrie. The fact that this story was based off real events brings even more meaning to the classic story for me. I think this is probably why it became such a great story. I know that when I tell stories from experience and my own emotion they ...
