Another day of good weather, 691 kms covered and two more states, Illinois and Iowa, are behind us.
The boys are really taking to this travelling lifestyle.
This was just a 2 night stopover in Omaha. We spent the day buying Christmas presents for Julie, her family, and her extended family who we would be spending our first White Christmas with. After travelling for 6 months without being able to but anything a little retail therapy was quite fun. Hours were spent finding just the right gifts for each person. Our friend of 25 years (Julie) picked us up and then in was a 3 hour drive to Loup City, ...
... we were on honeymoon ;-) Afterwords we strolled to a nearby fountain, which was very pretty, and now as I write this we are sitting in a pub, sharing a pumpkin wheat beer :-) We get back on the Amtrak in about 2 hours, and it's then on to Denver! We get in at about 7am, so wish us luck getting to sleep! Albeit a short stay, Omaha really helped us to recharge our batteries, and we had some great food and visited a fantastic zoo - all in all, a fantastic pit stop! ...

... Dame. I am glad that at least one of them knew that Notre Dame was in Indiana. Wednesday morning we finished up the drive to Notre Dame and everyone was excited to see the campus, touchdown Jesus, #1 Moses, Jose's dorm, the Grotto and the dome. We noticed a small sign for football stadium tours, so we decided to do that. Jose was in heaven. We got to go in the press boxes, in the locker room and on the field. I thought he was going to cry when he got to touch ...
