Sleep in, nice late breakfast downstairs. Bought tickets to Aladdin on Broadway, one of the few the boys will enjoy most likely. Expensive, like everything else here but should be a great show! Back on the Subway downtown, pretty cold today, 0 degrees but a fine sunny day. We decided to walk over the Brooklyn bridge as the next two days are colder with ...

... only to find the 100m queue all have tickets as well and we had queue jumped, oops!! Entering the cinema was probably the biggest shock for both of us, the screening was nothing to compare to the Vue back at home, The cinema was huge, with at least 500 people being able to fit in. (No, we did not go to Jersey Boys - probably 5 times would have been a bit excessive!). Interesting musical, though the sound need improvement. How ageless is Abba's music.

Saturday morning we woke to rain. First rain since we arrived on 16 October. We had intended to go to Statton Island and ...

Day 50 - NYC

A travel blog entry by samfader on Oct 20, 2014

... finding a few street art spots I'd read about and got some good snaps. Next stop was the 9/11 memorial site shadowed by the new Freedom Tower. Powerful spot, just unimaginable what people went through that day. Especially walking past the firehouses in the surrounding streets and seeing all the memorials for the first responders who lost their lives that day too. Ash was interested in the museum but it was chockas in there with a ...
