... us for just one night. Not sure it was really fun being beaten at dominos several times but at least neither of us were on our iPhones. Booking this week in the desert afforded us quiet time to relax, reflect on the past year's travels and gave Rick an opportunity to "baby" an aching back.

In early September we had been in Scotland where we did lots of driving in a tiny uncomfortable car. That along ...

Our adventures begin! Arrive at Wellington checkout only to be told that since we are going via LA we need a permit even though we are just in transit! Thank goodness for iPad and free internet. Managed to sort quickly and go through checkout again. Off to out gate and through security. Dave was stopped because he had a pocket knife in his back pack. How did that get there! Must ...

... have a couple of thousand for flights and insurance and then
have one thousand to spend each month away. Perhaps I watched our
money a little too closely but that's just me and everyone has
different ways of doing things but it means I know how much we had
and now have left so we could and still can spend without worrying,

I'm sure there are more things to think
about and everyone is different so don't take these words as vowels

... tourist bustle. We went out for Mexican that night, had a bit of a wander, didn't do much else. Disappointingly, there's very little night life on a Tuesday night in Hollywood.
So we bunkered down in the hostel, made some friends, watched a stupid movie and booked the next leg of our trip, Vegas.

(Sorry this took so long to update, but the last few days here have been pretty crazy. Will update later, hope everything in Aus is rad.)

... Out Burgers. They are only on the West Coast so the way home is the only chance to get one, so we tell the cab driver to pull in while she runs in and gets one. While we are waiting the cab driver tells us they are not normally this slow as this is the one his kids go to, so that shows how long she was in there.

Anyway we get home, the girls pack while Tone sleeps, I will pack at 3.30am when I wake up to catch that 6am flight.

Have fun, because you know I will be.
