... Mary... Oh, what a difference. OK, so the Queen Mary is pretty ragged around the edges, but she oozes charm, sophistication and quality from top to toe. Real wood everywhere, albeit in need of some 'Mr Sheen' in places. Here one really does go back in time and you can imagine the rich and famous bedecked in all their finery as they glide up the softly sweeping staircases and along the wide open and, above all, unobstructed Promenade Deck. We decided on ice-creams for lunch at the 'Haagen Dazs' (though I ended up choosing a milkshake). They were quite delicious, and a little too sweet for Nomes, so I kindly helped her finish it!

The beach was beautiful and we sat chatting while people behind us got arrested much to our entertainment. After our parking time was up we got on the road to Long Beach were ...

Besides the killer whale show we were also blown away by the dolphins, penguins, turtles, sharks and many more beauties of the sea. We stayed in the park until closing time and then headed to Coronado Island for more tacos!

... to enter a car park. The car park offered a shuttle for the lazy people (everyone) but we walked as it was less than a 10 minute walk. Took about half n hour to get tickets, but as we entered the gates at 1pm the man welcomed us "to the happiest place on Earth" so it all became worth the wait. We relaxed even more when we discovered that the park was open until midnight, so we had plenty of time. Queued for our first ride, Pirates of ...
