On the agenda today was the obligatory trip to Universal Studios, and we couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect (it was sunny and about 30 degrees) and we must have chosen one of the least popular days of the year for theme park attendance - I think our longest wait in line was at the very start of the day while waiting for the park to open! ... Anyway, we headed off to Border Grill for an early feed as I know that the food we will get on board will be terrible, so had an awesome modern Mexican dinner as our last meal on US soil. Dropped the car off after ab bit of a drive through Venice Beach and Marina del Ray. Some serious cash in Marina del Ray. Checked in at the Qantas counter and proceeded through the gates. So far, my passport has been seen by four separate people, some not more than 6 ...

... br> Eventually coming back around to Los Angeles harbour. OMG this port is enormous! The biggest container port in the US, it is more than 65Km long...
From there we were on to Long Beach with it's white-ish (compared to WA) sand beaches and endless beach volleyball nets. Unfortunately the weather is still a little cool, so we didn't see any scantily clad, buxom girls on roller blades (blame Baywatch and The Hoff) sailing along the boardwalks... Sorry Rob ...
